We are gaining a son!

Our daughter got engaged today! Have to celebrate that with a photo for sure.  We delight in our soon-to-be son!

Old and New

My dh gave me the cup in front yesterday. The one behind it is the on I've drunk coffee from most mornings for the past year. I really like the new cup. It's handmade and I love irises. But I'm used to the old cup. It is familiar. This morning as I waited for the coffee to drip through into my little pot, and looked at my two cups, I thought about the metaphor they are for many other parts of my life. I am reluctant to make changes, to change the old and loved and familiar for the new. I drank from my new cup this morning. I missed my old one, though.
