Day 121: April 30

These were taken at a wedding shower for Karl and Stephanie.  The legs are part of a game.  We blindfolded Stephanie and she had to feel the guys' legs and figure out which one was Karl's.  She did it!

Day 120: April 29

Fruit of the land!  I'm thinking of renaming Chimney Hill.  Maybe it should be called Blackberry Bramble!  We have thousands (probably millions) of blackberries right now, in various stages of ripeness. These are some of the first - and huge, juicy ones they are! My new favorite way to eat them is in a little milk, just like this. Yum!

Day 119: April 28

I've shopped more in the last few weeks than I have in the last few years!  This week I've spent a lot of time looking at plants to put outdoors in the amphitheater for the wedding ceremony.  We're not using these, but I like them!  Took this with my iphone to show Steph.

We've toyed with the idea of making our own bouquets and flower arrangements, so today Steph and I bought some flowers and played with them.  The greenery is ivy and monkey grass from our yard. We had so much fun!  We've decided to go for it. Neither of us is really picky about arrangements and we think it will be fun for all the girls to play with flowers the weekend of the wedding.  (I'll let you know how that goes.)  Anyway, here are two of the bouquets we came up with.

Day 116: April 25

Last minute photo late at night. I was headed to bed and realized I had no photo for the day. Hearing voices in Stephanie's bedroom, I went in, gave warning, and snapped a shot.  Juli leaned over to avoid a photo (her back is in the left bottom corner), Stephanie smiled, and Karl waxed dramatic!  They are a bunch of fun.

We began the day early with sunrise service, then came home for breakfast. While I cooked, one daughter took these (and many others) of  our other daughter and her fiance.

We were playing our new favorite game, Ticket to Ride, and I realized I'd not taken my photo for the day.   So here's one of our daughters, ignoring me. 

Since we do spend a bit of time playing, it's probably appropriate that I have more than one for the year.

This is not the best photo, but I wanted another shot of the flower I took last week. This isn't a hydrangea...it's a little tree.  My mother-in-law, who gave it to me, calls it a snowball tree. Anyone know the actual name?

 We visited the place where our daughter and her fiance will get married... right on this spot... and they celebrated with some dancing. I took quite a few more and am posting them on FB.

The family of our future son-in-law visited this weekend and we visited the local farmer's market and art market.  Perfect weather and lots of fun!

Coffee Call - finger beignets

I took this on March 31, but since we did the same thing (with other people ) on April 1, I''m counting it!  We have a kind of tradition while eating our fingers and drinking cafe au lait (not visible here). J picks up a little "newspaper" they have there and reads to us from it while we eat. It's got amazing facts and trivia questions and so on, and she's done it since she could first read. Fun times.
