S. wasn't quite sure what to make of all the hoopla, but she seemed to have fun!

Another Funky Chicken

I had to take a picture of this! The wife/mother at the house where we meet for community group is one of those wonder women I meet every now and then. She's intelligent and beautiful, homeschools seven children, has a gorgeous eclectic home which is filled with photos she's taken and pictures she's painted. And she's sweet, compassionate, and kind. I think she painted this chicken.

Sunday, September 16 - Friendly Faces

We met with our community group tonight. I love having all the ages mix together. Here are a few of the faces I saw!

Saturday, September 15

J,J, and I went to favorite Mediterranean restaurant for supper. Juli and I had fish smothered in a scrumptious sauce.

Friday, September 14

I'm posting a bunch at once here. About a week ago a limb on the pecan tree broke, but didn't fall. Yesterday the wind and rain from Humberto helped it down. Snce this picture was taken J's cut up the limb and we hauled it to the backyard wood pile! (The limb is bigger than it looks, the size of a small tree. Those trees are huge!)

On the Table

I read part of a 17th C. farce ("The Merry Conceited Humours of Bottom the Weaver") for my grad school class at co-op today in my off period. One of the preschoolers brought me Buzz Lightyear and put him on the table. I thought there was a certain irony there.... 20th C. farce meets 17th C. one. (Well, you probably had to be there. And since I didn't take many pictures today this one gets posted.)

Holdup!

My camera was apparently hijacked today! I found these pictures on it - ones I didn't take! So I opted to use them instead of the ones I took

Wedding Shower

I should probably explain this photo. Our homeschool co-op had a "honey do" shower tonight for one of our former co-op students and his fiancee. One of the games was a take off on the old "Newlywed Game." I asked them questions about each other and when one of them didn't answer correctly he/she had to put on an item of "clothing," including pillow padding. You can see some of the results here! The evening was a lot of fun! It was so great to have so many of my older (as in already graduated) students here.

Today's Co-op Face!

T flashed this big smile for me today!

Wednesday, Sept. 5 - Campus

Tuesday, Sept. 4 - Dance Class

For years our family did vintage dances and Jerry and I loved it! It was active and fun and good for our marriage. But with gymnastics and other things we quit about two years ago. And we've missed it. But this year our schedule allows us to go to dance class. (We're finding it is like riding a bicycle - it comes back quickly!) I did get clearer pictures, but I like this blurry one!

Monday, Sept. 3 - Green on Green

Sunday, Sept. 2 - Cousins

Okay, so I didn't take this picture this weekend (In fact I didn't take this picture at all, Paula did!) I'm posting it in celebration of the newest engagement in our family - my niece Betsy (on the right)! The girls are in a tree in our backyard.

In Our Garden

Recent rains have brought some flowers out!

Friday, August 31

My "to read" pile, which is a joke. A couple of those have been in the pile for several months!
