Day 169: June 30
Artwork that our daughter created for me a few years ago, framed and hanging on a wall of our house at Chimney Hill.

Day 168: June 29
![]() |
| After a two week break I'm back to taking photos once again. This is a sample of what I spent the day doing. We have a small house up in the country and when we began staying up there I started storing things in this storage room without cleaning it. It was a mess. Our daughter and son-in-law are moving in and I decided I should try to make some order out of the chaos. It was dirty and hot work, but I am pleased that the task is accomplished! |

Day 167: June 15
Again, not the best photo. Taken with my iphone... a magnolia. I need to get a better photo of one. I LOVE magnolias. Nothing says South the way that flower does.

Day 165: June 13
The newlyweds are back from their honeymoon! We had fun tonight hearing about it and looking at their wedding photos with them.

Day 164: June 12
The tech is doing a sonogram of Jerry's heart. The doctor had hoped that J's heart would go into normal rhythm overnight, but it didn't. We were able to go home today, but were to return on June 13 so that Jerry's heart could be shocked, hopefully to return to normal rhythm. But when he woke up Monday a.m. Jerry's heart was back to normal rhythm, confirmed by EKG... no procedure needed. We are so thankful to the LORD! There was no reason found for the arrhythmia/tachycardia... apparently sometimes it just happens.

Day 163: June 11
This is not where I planned to be today! Jerry's heart began beating very irregularly this morning and then began racing (correct terms are arrhythmia and tachycardia). I had my overnight bag packed to go up to Chimney Hill for some alone time, but it soon became apparent that God had other plans for my weekend. After four hours we called a doctor and ended up in the emergency room, where this was taken. Jerry was admitted. More tomorrow....

Day 162: June 10
A precious young Chinese couple, grad students at LSU, had us over for dinner tonight. I took this before all the dishes were put on the table. She must have cooked all day to prepare this special meal!

Day 161: June 9
I treasure these two friends. We were able to meet for coffee and book discussion today. God has blessed me in them.

Day 160: June 8
Again, taken with my iphone, and actually this happened on the 10th, but I have no photo for June 8 and I have two for June 10, so I'm sticking this here. (It's my blog, right?) Mr. Woody, our neighbor, turned 90 and his family, who own a restaurant, invited his friends to the restaurant to surprise him! He was! He is a dear, sweet man, and a wonderful neighbor.

Day 159: June 7
I took this picture with my iphone to send to the bridesmaids and family members. The mate to this earring (ones that were my mom's) got lost the night of the wedding. Still haven't found it.

Day 158: June 6
This is not a photo I took and it's not from June 6, but from the reception after the wedding June 5. These guys (brothers and friend of the groom) had a lot of fun!

Day 157: June 5
Stephanie wanted a photo booth at the reception, so we gathered hats (all from our home and one friend's), picture frames, cardboard moustaches on sticks, masks on sticks, and more for that "event." We had guests sign in a blank space next to an empty photo slot in a photo album and then had them pose at their leisure for a fun shot with props. This one is of my dad and my nieces (his granddaughters). I love it! I have laughed and laughed as I've looked at the photos. Some guests had a lot of fun with it. As soon as the newlyweds see them, I'll probably post some on FB.

Day 155: June 3
I would do our own flowers again in a heartbeat!
Paula and I went to Sams and picked up the bulk shipment of flowers I'd ordered two weeks before. We headed home with them, trimmed the stems, put them in water for about an hour. We gathered greenery from yards. A couple of friends came over to help, the bridesmaids were there (most of them) and we all made up the bouquets, boutonnieres, and arrangements. It was so much fun! Each bridesmaid and the bride could make her own bouquet.
I was a bit concerned about how the flowers would hold up, but they did great!
