| Texas! Crossing the Sabine River... | |
So many memories are bound up in that sign (or others like it). Growing up on Army posts, we'd always feel like we were home when we passed this sign, due in no small part to our father's feelings. This is the best I could do at 65mph on the interstate!

I can identify with what you're talking about. We always cheered at the Florida state line when coming "home" to visit (my dad was in the USMC). My kids do it now on our trips because they've heard me all these years. :)
It's not easy to time a shot with a sign at 65 mph. Good job!
I love state lines...something about marking progress...change...
I totally relate to the sign and emotions bound up in it! Great speed shot and I never knew there was an Orange County in TX. Surprised me!
P.S. On the other wonderful photos of your parents—I still get a chuckle out of grown-ups in the South referring to their "Dads" as "Daddy." Ha ha ha. Love it.
Funny about the state lines--we drive across MANY of them to get to our parents in GA and FL. Each time we come to a new state we sing a patriotic song. Truly, the simple freedom we have to move freely about should not be taken for granted. Glad you got to have that feeling of "coming home".
