I like beginnings better than endings! It's so hard to believe that I've been at this photo blog a whole year. I began doing it mostly spontaneously and without much thought. When Laura brought up the idea it sounded like fun. I'm always forgetting my camera, forgetting to take pictures and I thought this would help me remember. I would love to have a photo chronicle of a year. I didn't think much about artistic shots or new ways of seeing. I just wanted a kind of visual record.
I think I have that. And I think I'm a better photographer today than I was at the beginning of 2007, thanks to what I've learned from all of you! That's not to say I'm good at it, but I'm better than I was. And I think I do "see" differently than I did at the beginning. I notice light and shadows more. I see more.
This has not been the life changing experience for me that it has for some of you. I've enjoyed it (and gotten tired of it, too). At one point I was so overwhelmed with stuff in my life that I just couldn't record it. I just wanted to shoot photos of darkness. So I took a 3 week break.
I am changing cameras in January. My dh bought a new one and I'm sending mine with my dd for her semester abroad. I am not good with learning "things," with electronic devices, but I do want to try to learn the new camera and see if it makes any difference in my photos. I'm not going to be trying to take a photo a day. I may post photos from time to time, though. I am going to work at writing a blog, though.
I loved it when I had time to comment on your photos. There have been so many awesome pictures this year! I have LOVED the glimpses into your lives. And if I do a retrospective of your photos, like Sandy and Ampersand are doing (thank you!), I would make it one full of self-portraits. You are all dear to me.

I so enjoyed being able to "get inside" your life a bit during the past year, Becky. Although I enjoy the artistry of a well-taken photograph, I most enjoy pictures that enable me to put people in their place. To that end, I appreciated seeing more of your family and flowers and such. You're a writer at heart, so a more word-based blog will suit you ~ although I seldom find time to read personal blogs. Not enough hours in the day and all that business! I'm glad we could do the 365 project together and I hope you do post more photos from time to time!
xoxo
Hey Becky, I'm catching up on blogs! Finally.
Just wanted to say I'm glad you were along on this project! I loved so many of your pictures, and your presence in this 365 community was an encouraging one. Bless you!
