We woke up this morning at dawn to see the balloons race! It was actually somewhat comfortable that early and it was a beautiful sight seeing all the balloons come in, drop their bean bags on a target and float off again to the next drop point.
I'm amazed you got such great shots, Becky! This brings back a memory for me...Last summer, when we were in Switzerland, I woke early one morning with the odd sensation that someone, or something, was watching me. It was totally quiet, but I just had that *feeling*. I looked out the window ~ French doors ~ and there was hot air balloon, right *there*, with a big smiley face on it. I got up to get a better look and realized some sort of event was going on: There were big, beautiful balloons scattered throughout the sky! All against the gorgeous backdrop of the Alps. Breathtaking. Even though it was early, I had to wake the boys so they could see it, too. And I took photos, but not a one of them turned out good. I love your pictures!
