Stress Reliever

It's been a emotionally painful, stressful day and so dh and I took a walk this evening. It wasn't always brisk, since I took my camera along. There are several trees in the middle of the lake which are resting spots for some huge birds... herons or ibises, I'm not sure which. And we caught glimpses of the moon through the tree limbs.
The walk with the camera did me good. Just pausing to really see the world the Lord has made filled me with joy and peace.

The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they display knowledge.
There is no speech or language
where their voice is not heard.

Becky, the tree with the birds is wonderful. The lighting is great, with the hint of color in the sky, the reflection in the water, and the very nice "skeleton" of the tree and birds it just perfect. I love it.

I'm glad you and dh are walking together.

I love these shots. They really resonate.

I love the first shot the most -- the way it appears almost as an outline rather than a defined tree with the birds perched in the branches. Glad to hear you're feeling better after the walk; taking a stroll with God always helps.

Becky, I'm catching up on photo blogs and have enjoyed so many of your recent entries: Selah's sweet baby smile; Juli's exuberance at her fantastic feat; your reading corner; these so-very-Louisiana pictures (I do believe those are ibises, btw); and best of all, those old family photos. I so enjoy pictures like that. Your pretty face is the same now as when you were a toddler by your mother's side! And I can see both you and Paula, but especially Paula, in your grandmother. Seeing that photo of her boy, knowing he'd grow up to be lost over the Pacific in WWII...that pricks my heart.

I'm glad you were able to rejuvenate with your walk this evening, Becky.

These are lovely, Becky. I'm glad your walk had a peaceful, stress-relieving effect on you. I like the verses you put with your pictures, too.

These pictures are very soothing and I imagine the sight of them in reality was equally so. Glad for the blessings.
